Michael J. Marx is site operations manager–Westchester region for IBM, responsible for operations of its corporate facilities in New York. Previously, he managed the facilities and site operations mission for IBM’s semiconductor facilities in Burlington, Vermont and Fishkill, New York. He joined IBM in 1979 after graduating from college.
Mike’s volunteer activities have included board membership on the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and its Executive Committee; the Vermont Business Roundtable Utility Working Group; the Leadership Champlain board of directors; the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation board of directors, and the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies board of directors. After leaving the lightly traveled, bucolic surroundings of Vermont, Mike sees MetroPool as an opportunity to help boost the use of commuting options in the region.
Mike received a Bachelor’s Degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati and earned a Master’s Degree in civil engineering from the University of Vermont. Mike also holds a license to practice architecture.
He and his wife, Susan, are the parents of two boys, and reside in Brewster Heights, New York. His interests include golf, sports, skiing, fishing, boating, and music … but he readily admits, “I have no time for much of this.” |
